Matt has been practicing law since 2007. During his tenure as an attorney, Matt has worked with his clients in a broad range of areas, including Adoption, Divorce, Enforcement, Collections, Litigation, Misdemeanors, Real Estate Litigation and Statutory Compliance. He views his cases with an eye towards amicable resolution, while understanding that not all cases are suitable for alternative dispute resolution.
Matt earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2007 and his Bachelors of Business Administration in Management from Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas in 2004. He is licensed to practice in Texas and is licensed to practice before the Federal Courts for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Matt's experience is centered in Fort Bend County, but he has practiced in Harris County, Lee County, Lavaca County, Travis County, Wharton County, Waller County, Austin County, Dallas County, Refugio County, and Hidalgo County.
Matt was born in Burlington, Wisconsin, and moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 1983. He currently lives in Richmond, with his wife, Jennifer, his daughter, Cadence, son, Ethan, and their golden retriever, Shiloh and regularly attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. Matt and Jennifer are also life members of the Fort Bend County Fair.
Matt is an avid outdoorsman, and volunteers his time as the Chairman of the Bellaire Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, on the commercial heifer and wine committees at the Fort Bend County Fair, and is a member of the Fort Bend Bar Association. Matt is proud to sponsor the Fort Bend County Fair. During college, he helped found a hunting organization at Texas Tech University. In February of 2016, Matt was voted to the board of directors of the Fort Bend County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, and in July, 2016, Matt was elected a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. In 2015, The readers of the Fort Bend Focus voted Matt as Fort Bend's Favorite Attorney. In 2016, Matt was again voted as Fort Bend's Favorite Attorney, this time by the readers of the Absolutely Brazos Magazine.
